01/13/12 - Friday the 13th Movie Review

So today is Friday the 13th.  I didn't even realize it until I got home and started typing this post.

Today was a good day.  I got a lot done and my wife and I had a good day together.  Ironically, today was much like my last work and play day that I wrote about.  I have been putting the finishing touches on my website and to take a break, my wife and I went to see another movie.  We saw Sherlock Holmes and we thought it was pretty good.  Although it has been getting panned by the critics we figured that it was going to be the kind of movie that you had to see in the theater.  With the bad reviews we were pleasantly surprised to find that the movie was good.  I should have expected this to be the case considering the critics hated movies like Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Ferris Bueller's Day Off.  From now on, if a critic says it's bad, I want to go see it!

Now Sherlock Holmes has absolutely NONE of the personal and social qualities of George Washington but I will say that they have two things in common.  They strive to be the best that they can be and they never give up.  Beyond that . . . I got nuthin'.

I guess you could say that I did learn something though.  Those two combined attributes did make me think about "doing my best" and "never giving up".  Therefore, that is what I will aspire to for today.

I will always try to do my best and I will never give up in my endeavors.
